Today, 9/12/09. I visited the home of Levi Coffin in Fountain City IN. This link takes you to a site where his memoirs are online.

  1. my hubby use to tell about him since my hubby was from Cincinnati,Ohio he had a lot of knowledge so this is really interesting

  2. Yes Heidi, Levi Coffin moved from Fountain City IN to Cincinnati Ohio. He was recruited to Cincinnati to use his business expertise to make good available to stores that were termed "free goods". In other words slave labor was not used to produce the goods. Therefore allowing people who wanted to boycott goods produced by slave labor to do so. He was also very active in the underground rail road while in Cincinnati and was active in the black community there.
