Perhaps you remember that about six months ago I posted a video that is a favorite of mine called "The Story Of Stuff" and then sometime after that I posted a sequel called "The Story Of Cap and Trade". Well she is back again with "The Story Of Bottled Water" and I am guilty. So enjoy the video while I shop for a re-usable water bottle.
We have Colorado River water in Yuma...not so good. An undersink Reverse Osmosis water treatment appliance with four filters cost us $300. installed and $80. a year to have it serviced and new filters installed. That is about sixty cases of bottled water and if you have it piped to your icemaker you have clean ice too.
I have well water here- (when the pump is on) hehehe Had it tested many times and it is so good! 42 degrees year round too- At one point, this well served over 120 head of cattle a day. So I have no thoughts of it going dry on me.
As for the bottles? I am guilty as all hell. (Love my dang Pepsi too much).
I try to recycle all the plastic bottles I use, but thinking that some of them will still end up in landfills in spite of my best intentions is disquieting to say the least.

ReplyDeleteAnd then at the link I posted in the comment section above it says the re-usable bottles often have that BPA in them.
