We are nearly in the middle of the lower state. Funny how there are no spots on the map near the biggest plant of them all in Newaygo County. Hardy Dam is the source of Consumers Energy Co....the biggest power source next to Detroit Edison.
Dana that is a search list. It covers several types of lines from ethernet adapters to radio lines. Where is your source that electrical lines from wind and air sources are more dangerous than electrical lines from coal, nuclear or hydro electric plants?
Yes eating at MacDonalds is not healthy. I do not see the connection to this post. I have plenty of posts on our food industry if you would like to check them out.
I see that some counties that should be affected aren't and some counties that are far out of line of any power plant zone have high numbers, I tend to suspect some other culprit that is causing the deaths to be so high...like fungus and mold..........We are lucky enough to have one of the highest polluters in the nation down wind of us and my county is one of the lowest death rates...???
maybe they are blaming the coal in error...could be black mold which has become a serious problem as homes get more airtight...it causes serious respiratory problems...and death
Sometimes incorrect correlations are drawn. But air pollution has long been believed to be unhealthy to breath and coal powered plants cause air pollution.
I friend told me today that she heard that people with pacemakers can't use the hybrid cars. A magnetic field around these cars messes with the pacemakers.
Looks like my area isn't too bad.

Interesting idea Dana. Maybe it takes two things - the coal and something else with it?
