This book was written in the 1940s and is about a pioneer family in Ohio. It is historical fiction and takes place in the late 1700s. It was made into a mini series at one time starring Elizabeth Montgomery. It is about a family who journeys from Pennsylvania to Ohio and since two of my ancestral families arrived in Ohio about that time it is interesting back ground reading for me. The family in the novel suffer losses but the book ends on a happy note. For those who are interested in reading historical novels of this time period it will be an interesting and satisfying read. It is a trilogy and I just downloaded the second one of the series and am anxious to get started on it.
